What is copywriting?
Copywriting is a form of writing used for marketing and promotional purposes. We see it around us all, day every day.
It can take the shape of websites, emails, blog posts, brochures, case studies, press releases, Linkedin profiles — even those posts we all love to throw on social media.
It gets the word out about your products and services, and highlights all the wonderful benefits that they can provide.
When done right, great copy will get the reader to take an action. This could be anything from buying your product or service, through to hitting that subscribe button for an email list.
What is SEO copywriting?
Search engine optimisation (SEO) copywriting is online writing that is optimised for search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo (but mostly Google). It uses keywords and well planned structures to help people while searching online.
What's the difference between copywrite and copyright?
These two have got nothing to do with each other. Copyright refers to the legal ownership of specific content or property.
What areas do you focus on?
I work with businesses big and small to help build their presence online. I can write anything from printed flyers and monthly newsletters to brand new websites and lengthy email sequences for those who want to extend their reach.
How much will this set me back?
My set hour rate is extremely affordable for those looking at getting a professional hand with their writing.
I include a thorough briefing process and full quote before any work gets started. Whatever you sign on to, that’s what you’ll be billed.
I want things to be as transparent as possible. No surprises means no stress. It’s easier that way.

Do you require a deposit?
A 50% initial payment is required for all jobs over $700. The remaining balance is billed on delivery of the first draft and due 14 days from the invoice date.
Any jobs quoted at under $700 must be paid in full before work can start.
What’s included in the price?
My final price takes into account everything that is needed to write the custom copy that you’re after. This includes our initial briefing, research, writing, two rounds of amends and proofing. No stone gets left unturned. And my pricing, while always fair, reflects that.
How many changes can I make?
The copywriting process is always collaborative. I want to get it right.
I’ll send you over a skeleton draft with all the key points, messaging, guidelines and rules that your brand requires.
From here I’ll send across two more drafts that you can revise and comment on using Google Suggest Edits.
I’ll then send out the final draft to an external proofreader for some fresh eyes on your work.
Have you written for my specific industry before?
While having an industry expert write your copy is at times necessary, using an outsider isn’t a negative. It means you’ll have access to a fresh, unbiased perspective, and somebody who can breathe some life into your project.
It’s a big world out there, and there are definitely some industries that I haven’t written for. But I’m always willing to give anything a shot.
With in-depth briefing and research I can quickly paint a picture of the quirks and nuances of your specific industry.
Once I get to grips with your audience, voice, and competitors, I can get your message out in front of the right people.
Can we meet to discuss things further?
Meeting in person is generally not required. Everything can be sorted out over email, phone or Zoom.
Do I have to be in Australia to get some great new copy?
Absolutely not. I’ve worked with clients from all over including Australia, UK, Norway and Hong Kong.
Can I mess about with the copy once everything is finished?
Once your final invoice is paid and you’ve signed off on the end of the project, that brand new copy is all yours. You can do whatever you’d like with it.
How long will the process take?
This completely depends on the size and scope of the project.
After our initial chat and brief, I’ll write up a proposal which outlines what needs to be done and the timeline. Once you agree, we can get started.
For a rough guide, new copywriting for a 5-10 page website could be done in 3-4 weeks. On the shorter side, a single blog post of 800 words could be finished in 2 or 3 days depending on how much content/research is initially provided.
Can you help me out with some editing and proofreading?
